Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc is a British independent manufacturer of high-class sports cars and fantastic tourers. It was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. Steered from 1947 by David Brown, it became associated with expensive grand touring cars in the 1950s plus 1960s, and with the fictional character James Connection following his usage of a DB5 model in the 1964 film Goldfinger. Their own sports cars are regarded as a British ethnic icon. Aston Martin provides held a Royal Bring about as purveyor of motorcars to the Prince associated with Wales since 1982. It has over 150 vehicle dealerships in over 50 countries on six continents, making them a worldwide automobile brand. The company is traded at the Greater london Stock Exchange and is the constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.
Headquarters and main production site are within Gaydon, Warwickshire, England, together with one of Jaguar Property Rover's development centres on the site of a former RAF V Bomber airbase. A single of Aston Martin's current cars was named right after the 1950s Avro Vulcanbomber. Aston Martin has introduced plans to turn itself into a global luxury brand, and is significantly branching out into projects including speed boats, bikes, clothing and real estate development, even submarines and aircraft, mostly on a licensing basis
