Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc is a British independent manufacturer of luxury sports cars and great tourers. It was started in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford. Steered from 1947 simply by David Brown, it became associated with expensive grand touring cars in the 1950s plus 1960s, and with the fictional character James Connection following his using the DB5 model in the 1964 film Goldfinger. Their own sports cars are considered as a British ethnic icon. Aston Martin provides held a Royal Justify as purveyor of motorcars to the Prince of Wales since 1982. It has over 150 car dealerships in over fifty countries on six regions, making them a worldwide car brand. The company will be traded at the London Stock market and is a constituent from the FTSE 250 Index.
Headquarters and main production site are within Gaydon, Warwickshire, England, together with one of Jaguar Property Rover's development centres on the website of a former RAF V Bomber airbase. A single of Aston Martin's latest cars was named right after the 1950s Avro Vulcanbomber. Aston Martin has introduced plans to turn by itself into a global luxury brand, and is progressively branching out into projects including speed boats, bikes, clothing and real estate development, even submarines and aircraft, mostly on a license basis
